Mundungus Fletcher (nickname "Dung")

Heritage: Half-blood

Distinguishing Characteristics: Squat, with bandy legs. Long, straggly ginger hair, an unshaven face, and bloodshot, baggy eyes. Smokes a smelly pipe and smells distinctly of tobacco and stale alcohol. Has been known to be mistaken for a pile of rags.

First Mention: Chapter Three of Chamber of Secrets. First appears in person in Chapter Two of Order of the Phoenix.

General: Mundungus Fletcher was one of the original members of the Order of the Phoenix, a group dedicated to fighting Voldemort and his Death Eaters. He is somewhat of a con artist if not an outright criminal - this would make him seem untrustworthy, but he is fiercely loyal to Dumbledore after Dumbledore helped him out of a "tight spot." His links to the wizarding underworld are extremely useful in gaining information for the Order.
